Soma Rasa
Emerging from the dirty motherboard back streets of big beat hard drive, Bill & Dan extricated themselves from the routine circuitry to blast apart the dark underbelly of phonography. At present the lineup features Bill Hazard reWIRING boards full of keys, Dan Hazard pounding out beat thumping rhythms to the slave - primitive to electronic, and DJ Kristian (winner of the QLD DMC Turntable championships) slicing up all and sundry on the decks... trick shot action a plenty. Developed in the late nineties as a combatant to eternal boredom by brothers Dan & Bill Hazard, they plugged themselves fully in the electro wire and took out the big beat on their feet standing, with the assistance of DJ Shannon. Dan drooling on the V-sticks, Brother Bill lunching on the keys, while Shannon dropped crumbs on the T-Tables. Part of the wave of beats based acts that emerged from Brisbane including the Resin Dogs, Full Fathom Five etc that soon developed a committed audience. It wasn't long before they churned out a self-produced self-titled EP on Valve Records which went on to sell 2000 copies since it`s release mid 1998. Never satisfied with sticking to the boundaries they took on all comers - performing with the likes of Fugazi, Regurgitator, Resin Dogs, Mad Professor, Endorphin, Roni Size, Fat Boy Slim, DJ Spooky and more.

After cheesing their way around the country as the national entree to MOBY in Nov 1999, they followed this up with a slew of boot scoopin` performances at the Gold Coast Homebake 99, Glenworth Valley 99, Gold Coast BDO 2000, shows in Sydney & Melbourne with Professor Ratbaggy & a corker of a performance closing the infamous St Kilda festival in Feb 2000. DJ Shannon recently parted ways with the boys and the new DJ is DJ Kristian - QLD winner of the Technics DMC turntable championships.

4 years later these Brisbane based technicians of the beat power surge, have performed with the likes Audio Active, Moby, Transglobal Underground & The Creatures among others. Now with the new era in full boot up mode, the debut full length album I Mix Therefore I Am was ready for release in 2000. They mixed a few tracks with Magoo to complete the project. Self produced, home made funk in stereo. Since release of the album they have performed various shows with Pnau, Friendly, Resin Dogs, Transglobal Underground and Gerling.
