Rainy Day Women
Rainy Day Women are all about classic pop tunes. They have a knack for melody and a partiality to the sunny West Coast. The result is an eclectic bunch of sun-drenched ditties reminiscent of The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles.
The band’s sophomore EP shows a more focused Rainy Day Women, and whilst still possessing the same classic pop hooks that the band has become known for, it is a little rougher around the edges and gives off a feeling of vulnerability and honesty.
The six-tracker was recorded with producer Andy Lawson (Eskimo Joe, The Chemist) and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, The Shins) at Magic Garden in the USA.
Rainy Day Women will get 2013 underway with festival spots at Southbound, Big Day Out (Perth) and St Jerome’s Laneway Festival (Perth), before touring the east coast in support of the new release.
