Ready For Boredom
Release Date: 11/01/2013
Catalogue No.: RIP032CD
Record Label: Fuse Distribution
Format: CD

Ready For Boredom is the long-awaited full-length debut from Sydney’s most aptly named power punk band - a charming mix of the best of the '70s punk explosion with the mid-'80s US independent underground.

Their approach is grounded in the wild UK pre-punk pub sound of bands like Dr. Feelgood and Slade, who pre-empted the punk resurgence of rock n' roll with their bold riffing and a no-frills approach, much in the same manner The Replacements would do a decade later in the American Midwest. This combination of the industrious post-hardcore U.S. mood and the song-oriented UK punk sound finds expression in the devout interrogation of ‘Sally’, in the heartbroken longing of ‘Bite My Tongue’, or in the tribute to all-guitar riffing history of ‘Devotion’.

Ready For Boredom was recorded and mixed over two days in March 2012 by Woollen Kits’ Tom Hardisty, mastered by uber-producer Mikey Young. This is the band's first recording as a four-piece, with Doug Gibson joining the trio last year, which also includes Royal Headache's Joe Sukit and RIP Society main man Nic Warnock.
