Fremantle four-piece Rainy Day Women are all about classic pop tunes. They have a knack for melody and a partiality to the sunny West Coast. The result is an eclectic bunch of sun-drenched ditties reminiscent of The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles. The band’s second EP release, Friends, shows a more focused Rainy Day Women. Whilst still possessing the same classic pop hooks the band has become known for, it’s a little rougher around the edges – giving off a feeling of vulnerability and honesty that transcends further than any previous work.
