Brisbane band Halfday is the project of former Pretty Violet Stain guitarist (now halfday singer/ songwriter and guitarist) Nathan Lockwood. After a few years slogging it out with PVS, and finding time to squeeze in a tour as Alex Lloyd's guitarist on the My Way Home tour, Nathan decided it was time to give his own songs some attention. With release of the debut EP Downstairs King and the single Heavy, Halfday has enjoyed considerable acclaim with critics, audiences, radio and television stations nationwide. With a reputation for well crafted songs delivered by impressive live shows, Halfday toured extensively throughout 2002, prompting a live performance on Triple J's Oz Music Show with Richard Kingsmill and a slot at the Big Top stage at Livid in Brisbane.
2003 sees Halfday embarking on a new album, followed by an overseas tour of Europe, The US and Canada.
"Heavy, the single getting most air/video play, is a mini-masterpiece...It's a pleasure to say this is different from anything else I've heard an Australian band doing." [Geoff Parkes, Loggedoff.net]
"Their lyrical playfulness is a pure joy... A refreshingly brilliant achievement." [Daniel Craddock, The Oz Music Project]
"Melodic, breezy and injected with Beatles-esque harmony." [Matt Thrower, Rave Magazine]
