Formed in 1987, the Porkers are Australias longest running and most respected band of the ska music genre. Not playing strickly roots style ska, the Porkers music is a mix of ska, reggae and rock. Their sound has gained them a wide audience and has seen them included in almost every large festival in Australia, including Homebake, Livid and The Big Day Out. Their fanbase stretches far and wide with releases throughout the world and overseas tours including taking part in the Vans Warped Tour in the USA in 1999, playing alongside Ice T, Eminem, Blink 182, and fellow Aussies Grinspoon and the Living End, plus a host of others. In 1997, Drew Barrymore said - "What a great name for a band!".
