Melbourne band Wellyn have inhabited the fringes of the city's live scene off and on for the past six years. Many different musicians have passed through Wellyn's halls. The album features a gigantic array of voices including Dan Kelly, Ollie Brown (Art of Fighting), Andrew Coates (Black Cab), Danny Griffith (SubAudible Hum), Ned Collette, and Chris Altmann (The Vandas). A total of 27 musicians contributed to the album. Working with local sound stalwart, Finn Keane (who has recorded for Wilco, Franz Ferdinand and Oasis) out of Hothouse Studios in St. Kilda, Wellyn's epic ideas, crafted melodies, funereal leanings, gloomy tendencies, and sparkling arrangements slowly unfolded outwards and into layer upon layer of music and month upon month of studio time.
