Katastrophy Wife
Kat Bjelland's music career spans 20+ years of playing in bands. From her early days in Sugar Baby Doll (with Hole's Courtney Love and L7s Jennifer Finch) to Babes In Toyland (Warners), Bjelland played shows all over the world, headlined Lollapalooza 3, released 5 albums, sold over 1 million copies of them, toured with Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Faith No More, White Zombie, Lush, Dinosaur Jr and Tool - and was rigorously championed in the UK by the late, John Peel. She even wrote songs for Joan Jett. Heart-On sounds like PJ Harvey being eaten alive whilst the White Stripes battle it out against Sonic Youth in a violent and bloody knife-fight. Bjelland's impetuous death-growl inflicts an impressive piece of punishment towards the last 30 seconds when all hell breaks loose; undoubtedly her most ferocious vocal performance to date. Kat may now be a mother but settling down to total normality after twenty years of playing just isn’t an option. The music is more down n' dirty punk rock than ever before. From the forthcoming album 'Pregnant' due out late 2007 on RiSH Records.
