Rogerthat
Rogerthat. Fly their freak flag. They're the sound of spiralling petrol prices, political scandal, a ready supply of the drug of your choice, botched invasion attempts, one raised finger to the man, a board hitting a wave and fucking it all. They fly that freak flag up on high and into the sky. Swaying like the breeze, mind whistling like leaves, Amish beards and anti-establishment grooves- if ever there was anything lacking from our apocalypse as envisioned in childhood, it's in the sights they bring to our feverish minds – it’s in the second coming Rogerthat style. The breath of fresh air we needed, smoking out the room to an intangible haze. Walking the water and swimming the land. If ever there is a diagonal slide into sweet oblivion that needed magnifying with guitar, bass, drum and electrified amp, Rogerthat are the one to deliver it. They're the spaghetti western with both guns blazing moments before the saloon goes down in flames. www.blogspot/spoz.com Since their return from a 3 month tour across Europe in June 08 Rogerthat, have completed 2 tours – the latest a 24 date Aust single release tour – for single Green Room. The band spent the rest of the year buried away in their shipping container come studio working maniacally on their debut album like a brain-fried mad professor. 08 turned to 09 and the band emerged briefly to tour, blessing the Festival of the Sun, the Big Right Hook and Pyramid fest with their presence. The first born from these sessions was the pre-pro EP featuring the track Tangerine Bird, late in 08. The first single from the bands debut album The Desert’s Call is a version of the band’s garage pop diamond, Green Room, released feb 09 was RAVE single of the week, “..Green Room just has so many layers, finding the influences could take all night. I guess we’re just lucky that Green Room’s so engaging to listen to on repeat.” and played on Triple J, playlisted on FBi, PBS, RTR and RRR.
